Objective:
Teach your dog to get off furniture or people.
Method:
Whenever your dog jumps up, firmly say “Off” while disengaging your attention from them.
If they don’t respond immediately, turn away from them to show that you are not engaging until they are on the ground.
Once they are off, mark the behavior with a click or “Yes!” and reward them.
Practice consistency by using the same command in various situations, reinforcing the idea that “off” means to stop jumping.
Tips & Troubleshooting:
If they keep jumping, consistency is key—ignore them until they are calm, then mark and reward.
If they are stubborn, use a leash for gentle guidance.
