Objective:

  • Teach your dog to get off furniture or people.

Method:

  • Whenever your dog jumps up, firmly say “Off” while disengaging your attention from them.

  • If they don’t respond immediately, turn away from them to show that you are not engaging until they are on the ground.

  • Once they are off, mark the behavior with a click or “Yes!” and reward them.

  • Practice consistency by using the same command in various situations, reinforcing the idea that “off” means to stop jumping.

Tips & Troubleshooting:

  • If they keep jumping, consistency is key—ignore them until they are calm, then mark and reward.

  • If they are stubborn, use a leash for gentle guidance.
